Oct. 13, 2014 AUSTIN, Texas (UNLVRebels.com) - No. 11 UNLV women's golf continues to lead the Betsy Rawls Invitational field after fighting windy conditions in the second round on Monday. The Rebels are 22-over-par 598 (284-314) at the par-72, 6,225-yard University of Texas Golf Club.
UNLV has a one-stroke advantage over SMU (286-313) and Baylor (288-311) who are tied for second at 23-over 599. Tulane is fourth at 29-over 605 (291-314) and fellow Mountain West member San Diego State rounds out the top-five at 35-over 611 (299-312).
Senior Dana Finkelstein leads the Rebels and sits second at 1-under 143 (67-76). She is three-strokes behind the leader, Baylor's Hayley Davis, who is 4-under 140 (65-75) after two rounds. SMU's Alexandra Rossi is third at even-par 144 (66-78).
Freshman Harley Dubsky also improved her position in the second round, moving from tied for fifth to tied for fourth. Heading into the final round, she is 1-over 145 (69-76) and is tied with Indiana's Elizabeth Tong (69-76).
Also competing for the Rebels is senior Mayko Chwen Wang, who is tied for 19th at 9-over 153 (73-80). Freshman Mackenzie Raim (76-82) and sophomore Vivian Hsuan Chen (75-83) are tied for 43rd at 14-over 158
The 15 teams and 81 individuals will play the final round of the tournament on Tuesday with the first group slated to tee off at 6:15 a.m. PT. Chen will start the Rebels' day at 7:45 a.m. PT followed by Raim at 7:54 a.m. PT, Wang at 8:03 a.m. PT, Dubsky 8:12 a.m. PT and Finkelstein at 8:21 a.m. PT.
