LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV softball team will host its second doubleheader in as many weeks with a visit from another squad from the Beehive State Saturday afternoon. The Rebels and Salt Lake CC will square off at Eller Media Stadium for a two-game set with first pitch scheduled for noon (12:00 pm) with the second contest set to begin 20 minutes after the conclusion of the first affair.

The Scarlet & Gray opened up its fall schedule with a twin bill against the BYU Cougars. The former Mountain West foe won both affairs behind 12-2 and 12-9 scores.

The Scarlet & Gray's roster will be comprised of 11 letterwinners and 11 newcomers, including a redshirt freshman from last year's squad.

UNLV is coming off a second-place finish in the MW and a 26-28 overall record. Garie Blando, Emily Haslinger and Samantha Juarez helped the team to a 15-9 mark in league play and in return the trio earned all-conference honors. In addition, Blando was tabbed the MW's MVP.

All fall games are free and the public is encouraged to attend. Please note that the doubleheader against SLCC has been pushed up two hours to begin at noon.
