EUGENE, Ore. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's tennis team lost 6-1 Saturday in a neutral-site match at the University of Oregon's Student Tennis Center.
The Rebels fell to 4-3 on the year while the Pilots improved to 3-2.
Portland took a 1-0 lead by taking two of three doubles matches. The lone UNLV win came at the top of the lineup where Ace Matias and Denys Pume outlasted Alex Ferrero and Ratan Gill, 8-7.
In singles play, half of the matches went the three full sets but the Rebels only captured one of them as senior Las Vegas product Willie Sublette downed Justin Guay, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, at the fifth position.
Next up, UNLV will stay in Eugene and take on host Oregon on Sunday starting with doubles play at 11 a.m.
