LOGAN, Utah (UNLVRebels.com) – The 61st-ranked UNLV men's tennis team saw its four-match win streak snapped, 4-0, at Utah State on Friday afternoon at the Sports Academy & Racquet Club.
 
The Rebels fell to 10-5 overall and 1-1 in the league while the Aggies improved to 8-5 and 1-0.
 
UNLV was faced with having to rally after a rare loss in doubles. Arda Karakas and Ilia Snitari, ranked 58th in the nation, won their match, 7-5, over Xavier Calvelo and Jakub Medved at the top of the lineup but USU took both of the other matches to secure the point.
 
The Aggies took that momentum into singles play and won the requisite three matches to clinch the overall match. Vitaliy Horovoy was the only Rebel to even take a set, winning his first stanza before the match was eventually abandoned.
 
UP NEXT: UNLV looks to respond when it returns for a three-match homestand starting with San Diego State on Friday starting with doubles play at 1 p.m. Admission to all matches at the Fertitta Tennis Complex is free of charge.
