MESA, Ariz. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV women's golf finished sixth at the Clover Cup, which was being hosted by Notre Dame. The Rebels turned in a tournament score of 34-over-par 898 (307-297-294) at the Long Bow Golf Club (par-72, 6,209-yard).
Junior Dana Finkelstein led the Rebels by finishing fourth overall. She turned in a tournament score of 2-over 218 (76-70-72) to capture her fourth top-five finish of the year.
Louisville captured the victory by finishing 24-over 888 (299-296-297) in the tournament. Host Notre Dame finished second, one stroke back, at 25-over 889 (299-296-294) and Colorado, who sat atop the leaderboard for the first two rounds, finished third at 29-over 893 (292-297-304).
Notre Dame's Kristina Nhim took home individual medalist honors, turning in a score of 3-under 213 (68-72-73). Colorado's Jennifer Coleman (69-70-75) and Michigan's Grace Choi (69-71-74) tied for second at 2-under 214. Louisville's Emily Hass finished fifth, one stroke behind Finkelstein, at 4-over 220 (72-74-74).
Also competing for UNLV were juniors Mayko Chwen Wang (76-75-76) and Marguerite Swearingen (78-76-73) who tied for 25th at 11-over 227. Senior Demi Mak tied for 39th after posting a score of 14-over 230 (77-76-77). Freshman Avery French finished tied for 42nd after turning in a score of 15-over 231 (80-78-73) in the tournament. Freshman Vivian Hsuan Chen played as an individual and tied for 31st at 12-over 228 (78-75-75).
The Rebels will be back in action on March 24 as they travel to The Farms Invitational in San Diego, Calif.
