2014 The Goodwin Results
PALO ALTO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The No. 22 UNLV men's golf team shot an opening-round 11-over-par 291 on Friday at The Goodwin, which is being played at Stanford Golf Course (par 70, 6,727 yards).
Host Stanford shot 12-under on Friday and leads by three shots after the first round. St. Mary's is second at 9-under, followed by Oregon in third at 7-under, UCLA in fourth at 3-under and USC in fifth at 2-under. The Rebels are 23 shots back in 17th.
Individually, Stanford's Patrick Rodgers leads by two at 7-under 63. San Diego State's Ricky DeSantis is second at 5-under, while there is a four-way tie for third at 4-under.
Junior Carl Jonson leads the Rebels and is in a tie for 17th at 1-under 69, junior Kurt Kitayama is tied for 26th at even-par 70, sophomore AJ McInerney is tied for 76th at 5-over 75, and freshmen Redford Bobbitt and Taylor Montgomeryare both tied for 86th at 7-over 77.
The tournament features 18 teams and 93 individuals. Play continues on Saturday and concludes on Sunday with 18 holes each day beginning at 8 a.m. Live scoring is available on the internet courtesy of Golfstat through a link at UNLVRebels.com.
