2014 The Goodwin Results

PALO ALTO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The No. 22 UNLV men's golf team shot a second-round 7-over-par 287 on Saturday at The Goodwin, which is being played at Stanford Golf Course (par 70, 6,727 yards). The Rebels moved up six spots in the standings as a team and are at 18-over 578 after 36 holes of play.

Host Stanford shot 1-over 281 during the second round and remains the team leader at 11-under 549, six shots ahead of second-place UCLA. Oregon is in third at 2-under, followed by Washington in fourth at 1-under and USC in fifth at 3-over. UNLV is in 11th place.

Individually, Stanford's Patrick Rodgers shot 1-under 69 on Saturday and leads by three shots at 8-under 132. USC's Rico Hoey and Stanford's Maverick McNealy are both tied for second at 5-under.

Juniors Carl Jonson and Kurt Kitayama both lead the Rebels is a tie for 12th at 1-under 139. Jonson shot even-par 70 during the second round, while Kitayama was 1-under 69. Sophomore AJ McInerney is tied for 62nd at 8-over after shooting 3-over 73 during the second round, freshman Taylor Montgomery is 84th at 12-over after a 5-over on Saturday and freshman Redford Bobbittis tied for 90th at 18-over after an 11-over second round.

The tournament features 18 teams and 93 individuals. Play will conclude on Sunday with 18 holes beginning at 8 a.m. Live scoring is available on the internet courtesy of Golfstat through a link at UNLVRebels.com.
