2014 The Goodwin Results
PALO ALTO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The No. 22 UNLV men's golf team shot a final-round 6-over-par 286 on Sunday and finished in 12th place at The Goodwin, which was played at Stanford Golf Course (par 70, 6,727 yards).
Host Stanford shot a final-round 14-under 266 to win the event by 20 shots at 25-under 815. USC and UCLA both tied for second at 5-under, while Washington finished fourth at 1-under and Oregon and UAB both tied for fifth at 3-over. The Rebels had a 54-hole total of 24-over 864.
Individually, Stanford's Patrick Rodgers earned medalist honors by six shots as he finished 14-under 196 after after a final-round 6-under 64. USC's Rico Hoey was second at 8-under followed by Stanford's Cameron Wilson in third at 6-under.
Juniors Carl Jonson and Kurt Kitayama both tied for 12th to lead the Rebels at 1-under 209. Each shot even-par 70 during the final round. Sophomore AJ McInerney tied for 65th at 11-over after a final-round 3-over, freshman Taylor Montgomery finished 81st at 15-over after a final-round 3-over and freshman Redford Bobbittfinished 89th at 26-over after a final-round 8-over.
The Rebels will be back in action April 12-13 at the Robert Kepler Invitational at Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio.
