Woodland Hills, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf team finished 12th at the Bruin/Wave Invitational after posting a final round score of 29-over-par 317. The Rebels turned in a tournament score of 73-over 937 (308-312-317) at the par-72, 6,173-yard, tournament which was played at the El Caballero Country Club and featured 17 teams and 90 individuals.
USC captured the team title and was the only team to turn in a score under par as the Trojans finished at 1-under 863 (296-277-290) in the tournament. Co-hosts Pepperdine and UCLA finished second and third, respectively, as the Wave turned in a 12-over 876 (291-290-295) tournament score and the Bruins turned in a 22-over 886 (292-286-308) score.
Despite turning in a 1-over 73 in the third round, USC's Kyung Kim won the tournament by posting a 3-under 213 (70-70-73) tournament score. Her teammates Annie Park (77-68-69) and Doris Chen (72-67-75) tied for second at 2-under 214. Pepperdine teammates Grace Na (73-72-71) and Marrisa Chow (72-70-74) and UCLA's Allison Lee (70-70-76) tied for fourth at even-par 216.
Junior Dana Finkelstein captured her 12th top-ten finish of her career after tying for 10th. She turned in a score of 5-over 221 (74-73-74) to lead the Rebels. Freshman Vivian Hsuan Chen tied for 52nd at 22-over 238 (75-79-84) and classmate Avery French tied for 55th at 23-over 239 (79-80-80). Senior Demi Mak tied for 61st at 25-over 241 (82-80-79) and senior Katerina Prorokova tied for 79th at 35-over 251 (80-84-87).
UNLV will be back in action on March 14-16 as they travel to the Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz. which will be hosted by Norte Dame.
