2014 Robert Kepler Invitational Results

COLUMBUS, Ohio (UNLVRebels.com) - The No. 24 UNLV men's golf team shot a final-round 14-over-par 298 on Sunday and finished in fourth place at the Robert Kepler Invitational, which was played at The Ohio State Univeristy Golf Club's Scarlet Course (par 71, 7,455 yards).

Georgia Tech captured the team title at 6-over 858 after a final-round 2-over 286. UAB finished second at 24-over, Liberty was third at 25-over, UNLV was fourth at 27-over and host Ohio State rounded out the top five at 30-over. 15 teams competed at the Kepler Invitational.

The Rebels have now finished in the top four in six of their 10 events this season, including four of their last five.

Individually, Ohio State's Frederik Hammer and Georgia Tech's Ollie Schniederjans tied for medalist honors at 3-under 210. Hammer shot a final-round even-par 71, while Schniederjans fired a 4-under 67. Georgia Tech's Seth Reeves finished third, four shots back, at 1-over 214.

UNLV sophomore AJ McInerney and junior Kurt Kitayamaeach finished in the top-10 individually, as McInerney tied for fifth at 3-over 216 after a final-round 2-over 73, and Kitayama tied for 10th at 4-over 217 after a final-round 4-over 75.

Other Rebels: junior Carl Jonson finished tied for 20th at 9-over 222 after a final-round 3-over 74, sophomore Zane Thomasfinished tied for 34th at 13-over 226 after a final-round 5-over 76, and freshman Taylor Mongtomery tied for 61st at 18-over 231 after a final-round 7-over 78. The tournament had a total of 81 individuals.

UNLV will be back in action April 25-27, at the Mountain West Championship in Tucson, Ariz.
