Albuquerque, N.M. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf team sits second at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational after the first day. The team was halfway through the second round before play was suspended due to severe weather on Monday.

After 32 holes, senior Dana Finkelstein has a share of the lead with Northwestern's Suc Tangkamolprasert at 6-under-par. Finkelstein turned in the lowest first round score at 5-under 68 and has sank six birdies, which leads the field.

As a team, the Rebels were in first following the opening round after turning in a 3-under 289, but currently sit second midway through the second round, three strokes behind leader Northwestern. UC Davis and California are third and fourth, respectively, while Gonzaga and Oklahoma State are tied for fifth.

Also competing for the Rebels is freshman Harley Dubsky who is tied for fifth at 1-under after 33 holes. Sophomore Avery French has also completed 33 holes and is tied for 10th at even-par. Freshman Mackenzie Raim has completed 31 holes and is tied for 39th at 6-over. Senior Mayko Chwen Wang has finished 34 holes and is tied for 46th at 7-over. Sophomore Vivian Hsuan Chen is competing as an individual. She has finished 32 holes and is tied for 12th at 1-over.

The 16 teams and 93 individuals will complete the second and third rounds on Tuesday. Action will begin at 6:45 a.m. PT.
