Sept. 7, 2014 Fort Collins, Colo. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf team will open the 2014-15 season this week, September 8-9 at the Colonel Bill Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic, which is hosted by the Colorado State Rams.
The 54-hole event will take place at the par-72, 6,230-yard Ptarmigan Country Club with live scoring available at www.BirdieFire.com.
Play will begin on Monday at 7:30 a.m. PT with a shotgun start, where teams will play 36 holes. Pairings for the final 18-hole round on Tuesday will be determined by team score.
Competing for the Rebels this week will be senior Dana Finkelstein, who is the reigning champion of the Ram Classic, senior Mayko Chwen Wang, freshman Mackenzie Raim, sophomore Vivian Hsuan Chen and freshman Harley Dubsky.
The Rebels will be part of a 18-team field that includes Boise State, California, Colorado, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Idaho, Illinois, Kennesaw State, Long Beach State, Nevada, Reno, Northern Colorado, San Diego State, San Francisco, St. Andrews, UTEP and Wyoming.
UNLV is entering its 14th season and has qualified for 12 consecutive regionals. The Rebels, who return five letterwinners from last season, begin their fifth year under the direction of head coach Amy Bush-Herzer.
