Sept. 8, 2014 Fort Collins, Colo. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf team is tied for fourth at the Colonel Bill Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic after the first day. The Rebels turned in a score of 13-over-par 589 (292-297) at the par-72, 6,230-yard Ptarmigan Country Club.
San Diego State leads the field and turned in a two-round score of 1-over 577 (289-288). Illinois (297-289) and Colorado (294-292) are tied for second at 10-over 586. Gonzaga rounds out the top five at 14-over 590 (296-294).
San Diego State's Emma Henrikson (72-67) and Sirene Blair (70-69) are co-leaders after each posting a two-round score of 5-under 139. They hold a one-stroke lead over Gonzaga's Raychelle Santos, who sits at 4-under 140 (70-70). Colorado's Alexis Keating and Idaho's Leilanie Kim round out the top five at 2-under 142 (70-72) and 1-under 143 (72-71), respectively.
Freshmen Harley Dubsky (73-73) and Mackenzie Raim (72-74) pace the Rebels and are tied for 12th at 2-over 146. Senior Dana Finkelstein, who is the reigning tournament medalist, is tied for 15th at 3-over 147 (71-76). Senior Mayko Chwen Wang is tied for 39th at 7-over 151 (76-75) and sophomore Vivian Hsuan Chen is tied for 50th at 9-over 153 (78-75).
The 18 teams and 90 individuals will play the final round of the tournament on Tuesday. Third round action will begin with a shotgun start set for 7:30 a.m. PT.
