LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The campus community will come together on Monday to celebrate the return of the Fremont Cannon to Las Vegas after the Rebel football team downed Nevada, Reno 23-17 on Saturday.

The famous rivalry trophy will be brought across campus by the team and is scheduled to arrive at the Student Union at 11:15 a.m. PT. Weather permitting, the Cannon will turn back to red at the amphitheater at Valerie Pida Plaza. In the event of rain, the event will move inside the Student Union. Head coach Tony Sanchez, President Len Jessup, Director of Athletics Tina Kunzer-Murphy and invited guests are expected to take part along with the team. The public is invited.

UNLV returns to action this Saturday when it hosts San Jose State at 6 p.m. at Sam Boyd Stadium. Tickets are available by calling (702) 739-FANS or visiting unlvrebels.com.
