LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - No less than nine different NFL teams, along with two from the CFL and the new hometown Arena League franchise, sent representatives to Thursday's annual UNLV Pro Day on campus.
Taking part in all or some of the timed or measured events at Rebel Park were a dozen Rebels who just completed their college careers (Devante Davis, Brett Boyko, Shaquille Murray-Lawrence, Matt Vinal, Jordan Sparkman, Mike Horsey, Taylor Barnhill, Tajh Hasson, Damon Collins, Kenneth Penny, Josh Shirley and Siuea Vaesau).
Along with scouts, guests on hand included new UNLV head coach Tony Sanchez and various former Rebel players such as Tim Cornett, Frank "The Tank" Summers, Tim Hasson and Ryan Wolfe.
Two of the competitors, Davis and Boyko, were attempting to improve on their numbers logged at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis last month.
"I thought pro day was fun," Boyko, who is also projected as the top overall prospect by the CFL, said. "It was well organized and it was a good timing. Obviously it was good to see everybody again. It was fun being back on campus and seeing familiar faces. You come here for five years and this was the longest break that I've had seeing some of these guys. It was good to come back and see everybody."
The 2015 NFL Draft will take place April 30-May 2 in Chicago.
