March 16, 2015 TUCSON, Ariz. (UNLVRebels.com) - No. 17 UNLV women's golf is tied for third after the first day of the Wildcat Invitational.
The Rebels turned a 6-over-par 566 (291-275) after the first day, which was shortened due to darkness. The Rebels are tied with Campbell at 6-over 511 (295-216).
USC leads the field at 26-under 542 (280-262) and tournament host Arizona 17-under 543 (277-266). Texas A&M rounds out the top-five, and was one of three schools to complete two rounds, at 9-over 585 (295-290).
Three golfers from USC lead the field as Karen Chung sits first at 9-under 135 (67-68), Kyung Kim is second at 8-under 128 (67-61) and Annie Park is tied for third at 6-under 138 (70-68). Arizona's Lindsey Weaver finished the second round and is tied for third at 6-under 138 (67-71) and Weaver's teammate Wanasa Zhou rounds out the top five at 5-under 139 (67-72).
Senior
Dana Finkelstein, who ranks fifth according to Golfweek, leads the Rebels and is sixth overall. She has two holes remaining in the second round and boasts a tournament score of 4-under 132 (71-61).
Teams will finish the second round on Tuesday before playing the third and final round.
