March 17, 2015 TUCSON, Ariz. (UNLVRebels.com) - No. 17 UNLV women's golf finished third at the Wildcat Invitational on Tuesday, The Rebels turned in a tournament score of 1-over-par 865 (291-292-282) at the par-72, 6,386-yard, Sewailo Golf Club.
Senior
Dana Finkelstein, who ranks fifth in the country according to Golfweek, led the Rebels and turned in her 16th career top-five finish as she finished third in Arizona. She turned in a tournament score of 9-under 207 (71-68-68), two shots off the lead.
USC's Karen Chung took home individual medalist honors, posting a 11-under 205 (67-68-70) and Arizona's Lindsey Weaver finished second at 10-under 206 (67-71-68). USC' Kyung Kim finished fourth at 8-under 208 (67-70-71) and USC's Annie Park (70-68-72) and Texas A&M's Maddie Szeryk (71-71-68) tied for fifth at 6-under 210.
USC took home the team title after finishing the tournament at 30-under 834 (280-271-283). Host Arizona finished runner-up at 19-under 845 (277-285-283). Campbell finished fourth at 6-over 870 (295-287-288) and Texas A&M finished fifth at 873 (295-290-288).
Also competing for the Rebels was freshman
Harley Dubsky, who tied for 14th at 3-over 219 (73-78-68). Freshman
Mackenzie Raim tied for 19th at 5-over 221 (73-75-73), sophomore
Avery French tied for 30th at 8-over 224 (74-77-78) and senior
Mayko Chwen Wang tied for 49th at 11-over 227 (77-72-78).
The tournament featured 15 teams and 88 individuals. UNLV will be back in action next week as the Rebels will take part in The Farms Invitational hosted by San Diego State March 23-25.
