March 23, 2015 RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The No. 14 UNLV women's golf team won its first-round match on Monday at the 2015 SDSU Farms Invitational, which is being held at The Farms Golf Club.
The Rebels, who are the No. 3 seed at the 16 team event, got past 14th-seeded Nevada, Reno in the first round 3-2 and will face sixth-seeded San Diego State in the championship bracket's second round.
In its first-round match against UNR,
Avery French defeated Celyn Khoo (4 and 3),
Mackenzie Raim defeated Jordan Keyser (5 and 4) and
Harley Dubsky beat Nikki Prichard (2 and 1), while Bethany Wurster defeated
Mayko Chwen Wang (1 up) and Caryn Khool defated
Dana Finkelstein (2 and 1).
Teams are projected to play 36-holes on Tuesday and the Rebels will tee-off against the Aztecs at 8:05 a.m. PT. The pairs are as follow: French against Georgia Lacey, Wang against Paige Spiranac, Raim against Mila Chaves, Dubsky against Sirene Blair and Finkelstein against Emma Henrikson.
