La Jolla, CA (UNLVRebels.com) - Members of the UNLV men's tennis team competed Friday in the 126th Annual Pacific Coast Doubles Championship at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club.

Taking part for the third straight time in the nation's second-oldest tennis tournament, the Rebels had four duos see action at the storied open event and two teams won their opening round match. Ace Matias and Denys Pume blanked Rohan Shankar and Maxwell Macey of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 8-0, and Jakob Amilon and Ruben Alberts got by Tom Hill and Stefan Menichella of Pepperdine, 8-6.

Amilon and Alberts won their second-rounder, upsetting Nicholas Borchenko and Daniel Gealer, who are unattached, by the score of 8-3. The Rebel pairing then lost 8-4 to Oklahoma State's Lukas Finzelberg and Jurence Mendoza.
