Dubsky Earns Golfer Of The Week Honors

April 15, 2015

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -- UNLV freshman Harley Dubsky was named the Mountain West Golfer of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Dubsky finished tied for sixth at the PING/ASU Invitational after turning in a score of 2-under-par 214 (69-70-75) on the par 72, 6,223-yard Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Arizona.

The Valparaiso, Ind. native's finish tied her career-best, as she also finished tied for sixth at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational last fall. Her 54-hole total of 214 marked the lowest of her career and the two rounds at par or better brought her season total to nine, which ranks second on the team. She finished the tournament with 13 birdies, which was the third-most, and was one of seven players to sink an eagle in the event.

Dubsky currently ranks second in the Mountain West this season with a 72.96 stroke average, only trailing teammate senior Dana Finkelstein, who boasts 71.50 average.

It is the first golfer of the week/month accolade in Dubsky's career and the fourth time in the 2014-15 season that a Rebel has been recognized. Finkelstein picked up accolades twice in the fall and also on March 18 this spring.

UNLV will be back in action on April 20-22 as they travel to Palm Springs, Calif. for the Mountain West Championship. The tournament will be played at the Mission Hills Country Club on the par 72, 6,291-yard, Dinah Shore Tournament Course.
