April 19, 2015 RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) -- The UNLV women's golf team will travel to California for the 2015 Mountain West Championship starting on Monday morning. The Rebels come into the tournament ranked No. 19 according to Golfweek and No. 20 according to GolfStat.
The 54-hole MW Championship will be played at the par-72, 6,324 yard, Dinah Shore Tournament Course at the Mission Hills Country Club with live scoring available via Golf Stat.
UNLV, who finished tied for third at the event last season, enter the conference championship leading the MW with a team stroke per round average of 293.46. The Rebels posted six top-five finishes this season, which includes a team title at the Betsy Rawls Invitational.
Senior Dana Finkelstein, who ranks sixth in Golfweek's rankings and No. 19 in GolfStat's rankings, leads the Rebels and the conference with a scoring average of 71.50. The reigning two-time Mountain West Golfer of the Year captured two victories this season, winning the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational and the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
Freshman Harley Dubsky, who is the defending MW Golfer of the Week, ranks second in the MW with a scoring average of 72.96. Dubsky turned in three top-10 finishes this season and tied for sixth twice: at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational and the PING/ASU Invitational.
Freshman Mackenzie Raim ranks 16th in the conference, averaging 75.38 strokes per round. She turned in her best performance of the year at the Colonel Wollenberg's Ram Classic, tying for 13th, which helped the Rebels to a second place finish.
Sophomore Avery French ranks 14th in the conference, averaging 75.06 strokes per round. She turned in her best finish at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational by tying for 19th, which helped UNLV capture its first victory of the year.
Senior Mayko Chwen Wang ranks 24th in the conference, averaging 76.21 strokes per round. Wang's top finish was at the Colonel Wollenberg's Ram Classic, where she tied for 23rd and helped the Rebels finish second.
First round action will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Monday and UNLV is paired with Fresno State and Nevada, Reno. Wang will tee off at 7:00 a.m. followed by French, Raim, Dubsky and Finkelstein. The Mountain West Championship Central page can be found here.
