May 22, 2015 BRADENTON, Fla. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV women's golf came up a few holes short of finishing its first round of the 2015 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship on Friday, as the opening day was suspended due to weather.
The Rebels sit 13th at 17-over-par and have three golfers yet to turn in first round scores.
Twelve of the 24 teams completed the 6,468-yard, par 72 course, with Duke leading the way among those 12. The Blue Devils shot 293 (+5) as a team at The Concession Golf Club to lead top-ranked Southern California by four strokes, and No. 5 Arizona by seven among teams finishing the round.
Thirteenth-ranked Stanford led the way among the 12 teams still needing to complete first-round holes when play resumes Saturday morning, sitting at three under par as a team through 10 holes. Cardinal junior Mariah Stackhouse polished off 12 holes Friday, knocking down birdies on four of them to sit at four strokes under par when play was suspended -- the lowest of the day.
