May 24, 2015 BRADENTON, Fla. (UNLVRebels.com) - Two cuts and an individual championship will be the stakes on Monday as the 2015 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships third round wraps up and plays the fourth round - the final round of stroke play, which will be broadcast live on Golf Channel.
The field took shape Sunday with all but six teams completing play at The Concession Golf Club despite an afternoon weather delay and top-ranked Southern California holding a three-stroke lead over No. 4 Duke for first place with stroke play winding down. UNLV women's golf is 17th at 67-over-par 931 (305-324-302) and is two spots off of the cut line.
The Trojans and Blue Devils will join No. 12 Tennessee (fourth place), No. 2 South Carolina (13th place), No. 11 Wake Forest (14th place) and No. 3 UCLA (16th place) in finishing up the final five holes of the third round Monday at 7:30 a.m., at which point the field will be cut from 24 teams and 12 individuals to the top 15 teams, and nine individuals not on an advancing team. The fourth round will begin at 10:50 a.m. Following the fourth round, the individual champion will be determined as well as the eight teams advancing to Tuesday's match play quarterfinals.
Dana Finkelstein leads the Rebels and is tied for 25th overall at 10-over 226 (75-79-72). If the team does not qualify for the fourth round on Monday, Finkelstein will play as an individual.
Harley Dubsky is tied for 36th overall at 12-over 228 (78-78-72) and could also potentially compete as an individual in the final round.
Also competing for UNLV is Mackenzie Raim, who is tied for 74th at 19-over 235 (74-82-79), Mayko Chwen Wang is tied for 100th at 26-over 242 (78-85-79) and Avery French sits 127th at 38-over 254 (85-87-82).
