LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV sophomore wide receiver Devonte Boyd and senior safety Peni Vea have both been named a Phil Steele's 2015 Preseason First Team All-Mountain West Conference honoree, the publication announced Monday.

Boyd, a graduate of Henderson's Basic High School, was a member of the FWAA Freshman All-America Team last year after being named the MW Freshman of the Year. He led the FBS in receiving yards during the regular season and his 65 catches for 980 yards both were UNLV freshman records.

Vea, out of Kailua-Kona, Hawai'i, and a graduate of Kealakehe High School, ranked second on the team last year with 88 total tackles, including 7.5 for loss. He was second on the squad with 3.5 quarterback sacks and added one interception and one forced fumble.

Joining the duo on Phil Steele's lists were a couple of fourth-teamers: junior running back Keith Whitely out of Houston's La Porte High School (504 rushing yards, 22 catches for 186 yards); and junior linebacker Tau Lotulelei out of Maui High School in Hawai'i (team-leading 99 tackles, 10.5 TFL, 3.0 sacks).
