Aug. 27, 2015

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's soccer team faces a tough challenge this weekend, as it will be on the road at a pair of NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago. First up will be a Friday night contest at No. 22 Arizona State, which will be followed by a Sunday, Aug. 30 contest at Northern Arizona.

UNLV (1-1) at #22 Arizona State (1-0)
Friday, Aug. 28 - 7 pm - Tempe, Ariz.
UNLV (1-1) at Northern Arizona (0-1)
Sunday, Aug. 30 - 3 pm - Flagstaff, Ariz.
This is the first meeting between UNLV and the Sun Devils since 2007, and the Rebels have won three of the last four meetings between the schools. UNLV holds a 5-1-2 mark against NAU, which includes a home win a season ago and a double-overtime tie in Flagstaff in 2013.

Expected to lead the team this season are senior midfielder Denali Murnan, senior forward Jodi Barber and senior defender Samantha Weber. Murnan led the team in scoring in 2014 with 12 points and was named Second Team All-MW. Weber is one of the top defenders in the MW and has been a starter ever since her freshman season, while Barber is looking to make a bigger impact after transferring to the Division I level in 2014.
