Betsy Rawls Final Results

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV Women's Golf wrapped up the two-day 54-hole Betsy Rawls Invitational at University of Texas' par-72, 6,278-yard UT Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon, finishing the tournament with a score of 22-over 886 to place seventh overall. Senior Alexandra Kaui nabbed the best finish for the Rebels, shooting a 1-over 73 on the final day to bring her tournament total to 3-over 219, which was good for a tie for 13th. Kaui collected seven birdies and one eagle over the two day invitational.

No. 10 Kent State turned in a strong final round to improve four strokes after day one for a three-round total of 2-under 862 to capture the tournament title. Miami, the leader heading into Tuesday's finale, dropped five strokes to finish one behind the Golden Eagles at 1-under 863. Hurricane golfer Dewi Weber, who shot an incredible 15-under on day one, only finished the day at even, but the lead she built was too much to overcome and Weber took top medalist honors. Kent State's Michaela Finn took second in the individual standings after shooting a 2-under 70 to finish with a 7-under 209. Host No. 19 Texas, No. 27 Baylor, Texas Tech and No. 22 SMU finished ahead of UNLV in that respective order.

After starting the day in a tie for 15th, junior Makenzie Raim held serve, finishing the tournament in the same place after a 3-over 75 in the final round brought her total score to 7-over 223. Sophomore Elizabeth Prior, who was tied with Raim heading into the final round, shot a 5-over 77 for a three-round score of 9-over 225 to finish in a tie for 25th. Sophomore Shannon Oh and junior Harley Dubsky carded 54-hole scores of 10-over 226 and 16-over 232 to finish tied for 34th and tied for 60th, respectively.

Sophomore Alyssa Getty, playing in her second tournament as an individual, finished with a 14-over 230 to place tied for 54th after a 4-over 77 on the final day.

The Rebels won't have too much time to rest as they host the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown at their home course Oct. 23-25. First-round play begins with a shotgun start at 12 p.m. on Sunday, October 23 at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
