TULSA, Okla. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV junior Alexandr Cozbinov won his first match Monday in the Qualifying draw of the 2016 St. Francis ITA Men's Tennis All-American Championships being held at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

He advanced by making quick work of homestanding Jarod Hing of Tulsa, 6-1, 6-1. Cozbinov will now face Oklahoma's Florian Bargusi in the second round.

Things did not go as well in doubles, however, as the Rebel duo of Ruben Alberts and Jakob Amilon dropped a 6-2, 6-2 match to Jake Hansen and Eric Rutledge of Rice. Amilon will appear later this week in the event's singles main draw.
