@UNLVGolf on TWITTER | 2016 John A. Burns Intercollegiate Results LIHUE, Hawaii - The UNLV men's golf team shot a second-round 3-under-par 285 on Thursday at the 40th Annual John A. Burns Intercollegiate, which is being played at Kauai's Wailua Golf Course (par 72, 6,991 yards).
The Rebels moved up five spots in the standings and have a 36-hole total of 5-over 581.
Texas remains the team leader after a second-round 4-under 284 and has a two-round score of 16-under 560. California is second, seven shots back at 9-under, while Texas A&M is third at 1-over. The Rebels are tied with Washington State for fourth, while Arizona and Washington are tied for sixth at 7-over. There are 17 teams competing. Individually, California's K.K. Limbhasut leads by three shots at 7-under 137. He shot 6-under 66 (six birdies) during the second round. There is a two-way tie for second at 4-under between California's Shotaro Ban and Texas' Gavin Hall.
The Rebels are led individually by sophomore John Oda, who is tied for eighth at 2-under 142. He shot a second-round 2-under 70. Senior Zane Thomas is also in the top 20 as he is tied for 18th at even-par 144 after a second-round 1-under.
Other Rebels: sophomore Shintaro Ban is tied for 25th at 1-over 145 after a second-round even-par 72, freshman Harry Hall is tied for 48th at 6-over 150 after a second-round even-par 72 and senior AJ McInerney is tied for 59th at 8-over 152 after a second-round 2-over 74.
Junior Redford Bobbitt and sophomore Ben Davis are both playing as individuals. Bobbitt shot a second-round 2-under 70, while Davis shot 3-over 75. They are both tied for 37th at 4-over 148.
There are a total of 97 golfers competing.
