LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The No. 75 ranked UNLV women's tennis team defeated conference opponent Colorado State 6-1 Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The Rebels improved to 9-0 while the Rams fell to 3-6.

In the win over the Rams, the hosts won two of three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead. Carol Zi Yang and Aiwen Zhu downed Aina Hernandez Soler and Madison Porter 6-4 at the top position while Iren Kotseva and Paola Artiga beat Maddie Buxton and Laia Hernandez Soler 7-5 at the third spot.

In singles, UNLV swept on courts 1-5. Yang downed Soler 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1; Zhu defeated Emily Kolbow 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2; Artiga rolled past Buxton 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3; Anna Bogoslavets breezed by Celine Voss 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4; and Kotseva beat Porter 6-3, 6-2 on court five.

UNLV will return to action at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Saturday when it hosts a trio of matches against UTSA , Texas State, and Southern Utah. Doubles play will start at 10 a.m. PT and admission is free of charge.
