March 13, 2016 LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - No. 24 UNLV women's golf will continue its 2015-16 season with the Arizona Wildcat Invitational from Mar 14-15. The 54-hole event hosted by No. 12 Arizona will be played at the par-72, 6,492-yard Sewailo Golf Club.
Play will begin with the first round on Monday with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start, and the second round is also scheduled to begin after the first round is completed later in the day. The final round will start on Tuesday with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.
Competing for the Rebels this week will be juniors Alexandra Kaui, sophomores Harley Dubsky and Mackenzie Raim and freshmen Kaylee Benton and Elizabeth Prior.
UNLV is coming off a dominating win at the Battle at Boulder Creek II last week. The Rebels captured the team title with a 9-under 855 (279-283-293), finishing 60 strokes ahead of the second place team Boston. Prior captured her first collegiate win competing as an individual with a 15-under-par 201 (64-69-68), finishing eight strokes ahead of Benton (70-67-72). Prior's 15-under 201 was the second lowest individual tournament score in UNLV history, and the team score of 9-under 855 was the third lowest team tournament score in program history. Every UNLV golfer except Raim had their highest finish ever at a tournament.
The Rebels will be part of a 15-team field that includes the host Arizona, No. 14 Arizona State, South Carolina, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Miami, Kansas, Colorado, Baylor, Michigan, Washington State, New Mexico, Purdue and Vanderbilt.
