LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV softball heads out to California this weekend for the Easton Tournament in Fullerton on Friday and Saturday. The Rebels will then play two games on Sunday in nearby Riverside.
UNLV will face Arkansas (4:00 p.m.) and No. 23/25 Nebraska (6:30 p.m.) on Friday in the first day of the tournament, and then will take on Grand Canyon the next day at 6:00 p.m. In Riverside on Sunday the Rebels will play Loyola Marymount in a neutral game at 9:30 a.m. and the host UC Riverside at 2:30 p.m.

LOOKING BACK A WEEK
The Rebels swept its competition in their fourth and final home tournament of the season, the Rebel to pick up four wins last weekend. The Rebels' bats carried them to victories, outscoring opponents 42-12.
UNLV routed DePaul 11-6 on Thursday night. The Rebels hit season-high four home runs as a part of a then season-high 13 hits. UNLV took control in the bottom of the third inning with four runs scored to take the lead for the rest of the game. The Rebels scored five more runs in the next inning. Cooper hit her second home run of the season to left field to add two more runs. Garie Blando hit a solo home run to center field with two outs in the fifth inning.
UNLV toppled Santa Clara 20-1 on Friday night in five innings to tie the school record for runs scored in a game with 20. The previous time the Rebels scored 20 runs was on May, 2 1981 against Redlands. The Rebels poured in the runs in the fourth inning to shorten the game, knocking in 14 runs off 10 hits. Haslinger capped off the big inning with a solo home run to left field for her third homer of 2016 and 30th of her career. Bueno tied the school record for most doubles in a game with three, joining Jaci Hull (Mar. 24, 2007 versus Sacramento State) as the only Rebels to do so. UNLV had nine different batters register a hit, including five that had at least two.
UNLV shut out Wisconsin on Saturday night. After a scoreless first two innings UNLV seized a 1-0 lead in the third inning. Chrissi Omalza smacked a two-run homer to left center for her second pinch-hit homer of the season. As the number six and seven batters in the lineup, Foti and Emily Haslinger both went 2-3 with a double.
Two home runs by Garie Blando led UNLV to an 8-5 victory over Valparaiso on Sunday evening. Trailing 4-1 in the fourth inning UNLV stormed back from the early deficit to take the lead with five runs scored. UNLV added two insurance runs in the sixth inning. Alyssa Cordova tripled to right field to bring home DePippo and Blando.
ON DECK
UNLV will return home to Las Vegas and kick off Mountain West action against San Diego State in a weekend series. The Rebels and Aztecs will square off next Friday at 6:00 p.m., Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 12:00 p.m. The two teams began conference play last year in San Diego, and the Aztecs swept the Rebels to get off to a 3-0 start in the conference.
