March 30, 2016 LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - No. 18 UNLV women's golf resumes its 2015-16 season after nearly two weeks off with the SMU/DAC Invitational from April 1-2. The 54-hole event hosted by SMU will be played at the par-72, 6,159-yard Dallas Athletic Club Blue Course.
Play will begin with the first round on Friday with a 6:00 a.m. P.T. shotgun start, and the second round is also scheduled to begin after the first round is completed later in the day. The final round will start on Saturday with a 6:00 a.m. P.T shotgun start as well.
Competing for the Rebels this week will be junior Alexandra Kaui, sophomores Harley Dubsky and Mackenzie Raim and freshmen Kaylee Benton and Elizabeth Prior.
UNLV is coming off a third place finish in the Arizona Wildcat Invitational with a 12-over-par 876 (289-295-292). Freshman Kaylee Benton (73-72-74) and sophomore Harley Dubsky (71-79-69) tied for 15th place at 3-over 219. Benton has shared at least the top score for the Rebels in five tournaments this season.
The Rebels will be part of a 16-team field that includes the host SMU, Baylor, Central Arkansas, Florida International, No. 16 Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, New Mexico State, North Texas, No. 10 Oklahoma State, TCU, No. 25 Texas Tech, Tulane, UTSA and No. 13 Washington.
