LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - For the second consecutive year UNLV wide receiver Devonte Boyd has been named to the official preseason watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, which goes each season to the nation's top pass catcher.

The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, the Florida-based creator and sponsor of the Biletnikoff Award, released the 2016 preseason list Wednesday. The winner is selected by the Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, a group of college football journalists, commentators and former receivers.

The 10 Biletnikoff Award semifinalists will be announced on November 14 and three finalists will be declared, following another vote, on November 22. The 2016 winner will be presented live on December 8 during The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN.

Boyd, a graduate of Henderson's Basic High School, was a unanimous choice for 2016 Preseason First Team All-Mountain West by Lindy's, Athlon, Sporting News, ESPN and Phil Steele's preview publications. The honors candidate has caught at least one pass in all 25 games of his career and piled up more receiving yards through a sophomore season than any Rebel in history with 1,884. Boyd, who posted five 100-yard receiving games last fall, also became the third UNLV player to reach 900 yards in more than one season when he finished with 54 catches for 904 yards and seven touchdowns in 2015.
