July 8, 2016 LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV placed six members of the women's basketball team on the 2016 Spring Academic All-Mountain West team, the league office announced this week. Amie Callaway was named Academic All-MW for the fourth straight season, while graduate student Aley Rohde was a third-time honoree. Four newcomers to the Lady Rebels made the team as well. Transfer sophomores Dakota and Dylan Gonzalez were both named after their first year of competition on the team, while they were joined by freshmen Jordyn Bell and Paris Strawther.
Rohde also received the addition honor of MW Scholar-Athlete, the second straight for the Cave Creek, Ariz., native.
To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-MW team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the school while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their team. To be eligible for selection as a MW Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition for their athletic team.
