Lady Rebels Head To Northern California For Lone Contest Against San Jose State

UNLV and San Jose State will tip-off on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 7:00 p.m. PT at the Provident Credit Union Event Center

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV Lady Rebels are heading back out on the road for a midweek Mountain West contest visiting San Jose State on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. PT. This is the only conference meeting between the two programs this season.
 
ABOUT SAN JOSE STATE: UNLV is 41-9 all-time in the series versus San Jose State. Under head coach Lindy La Rocque, the Lady Rebels are 7-0 against the Spartans. San Jose State heads into Wednesday's contest with a 2-15 overall record and an 0-6 MW record. The Spartans' only wins have come against Cal St. Monterey Bay and Sacramento St. San Jose State is led by Maya Anderson who is averaging 13.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Amira Brown is the second-leading rebounder with 6.3 boards per game. Rylei Waugh is second on the squad in points with 9.9 per game.

LAST TIME ON THE COURT:  For the second straight game, three Lady Rebels scored in double-figures as the UNLV women's basketball team rolled past Wyoming 82-53 on Saturday afternoon at Arena-Auditorium. This marks the second consecutive season the Scarlet & Gray have started Mountain West play 6-0. Meadow Roland earned her sixth double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Roland shot 8-for-19 from the field and 2-for-4 from the three. Shelbee Brown had a season-high 17 points and brought down 14 rebounds, six of them were huge offensive boards. Brown dished two assists and had two steals. Sydni Summers was the third leading scorer for the Lady Rebels as she drained a season-high 12 points. Summers was 2-for-6 from the field and was a solid 4-for-5 from long range. Mariah Elohim dished a team and season-high five assists.
 
SQUAD LEADERS: Meadow Roland leads the Scarlet & Gray in points per game, averaging 14.1 and she is the second-leading rebounder bringing down 9.1 boards per game. Jasmyn Lott is second on the team with 13.6 points per game and second in made field goals with 5.3 per game. Aaliyah Alexander leads the Lady Rebels in assists per game with 3.1. Alexander is also the third leading scorer on the squad, averaging 10.4 points per game. Shelbee Brown leads the squad in rebounds with 9.9 per game and is fourth in points per game with 10.0.
 
NON-CONFERENCE WRAP: The Lady Rebels wrapped up non-conference play with a 5-5 overall record. UNLV's wins came against Washington State, DePaul, Creighton in the rematch of the 2023 NCAA First round, Northern Iowa and UTSA.
 
4X MOUNTAIN WEST REGULAR SEASON CHAMPS: The Lady Rebels continued to rise last season becoming the first Mountain West team since 2017 to collect four straight regular season titles. UNLV made a trip to the Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament (WBIT) and collected the first postseason victory in over two decades. The Scarlet & Gray claimed the league's Coach of the Year in Lindy La Rocque and Freshman and Sixth Player of the Year for the second straight year with Meadow Roland.
 
WHAT UP SQUAD?: The Lady Rebels return five of the 13 players from their 2025 championship team, including starter Aaliyah Alexander and Mountain West Sixth and Freshman of the Year Meadow Roland. UNLV welcomes nine new players, which includes graduate students Shelbee Brown and Destiny Leo, seniors Destiny Brown and Mariah Elohim, juniors Ongolea Afu and Sydni Summers and freshmen Trystan James, Hodaya Kabada and Alexis Swillis.
 
UP NEXT: The Lady Rebels will be back on home court for the next two MW games, first hosting San Diego State in a huge contest on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. PT.
