ALBUQUERQUE (UNLVRebels.com) - No. 24 UNLV women's golf closed out its first event of the 2016-17 season on Tuesday at the Dick McGuire/Branch Law Firm Invitational in Albuquerque, finishing the two-day tournament in 15th place with a 33-over 897 (301-299-297). The invitational, hosted by the University of New Mexico Lobos, is played annually at UNM's par-73, 6,315-yard Championship Course, which is set to host a regional in spring 2017.

After second round play was suspended on Monday afternoon due to rain, Tuesday began with the completion of round two, followed by the third and final round. No. 9 Oklahoma State captured the tournament title with a 20-under 844, while Colorado's Esther Lee -- the 26th-ranked player in Golfweek's preseason top-30 -- took home the individual title after an impressive 18-under 198, a program record for the Buffs. The senior was hard to catch after tying an NCAA record with a round one score of 11-under 61.

Junior Mackenzie Raim was UNLV's top finisher, carding a three-round total of 3-over 219 (74-72-73), which was good for a tie for 37th. After recording a first round score of 3-over 75, senior Alexandra Kaui ended the tournament in a tie for 62nd with a 9-over 225 (75-77-73). Sophomores Elizabeth Prior and Shannon Oh turned in total scores of 10-over 226 (76-74-76) and 11-over 227 (76-76-75) to finish tied for 65th and 70th, respectively.

Freshman Alli Kim made her collegiate debut in Albuquerque and recorded a tournament total of 20-over 236 (78-77-81) to finish in 87th. Sophomore Alyssa Getty competed as an individual over the two days, carding a 18-over 234 (81-75-78) for a tie for 84th

The Rebels won't be in action again until Oct. 17-18 when they head to Austin, Texas, for the Betsy Rawls Invitational hosted by the University of Texas.
