LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV's Jovana Kenic posted a big win in flight two of the quarterfinals and semifinals singles during Saturday's second day of the 15th annual Freeman Memorial Women's Tennis Championships at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

Kenic remained alive in the main draw of singles by knocking off Stanford's Liz Yao by the score of 6-2, 6-2, then defeated Pepperdine's Christine Maddox 6-4, 6-3. She will now face Jean Runglerdkriangkrai of Pepperdine in Sunday's final round, which starts at 11 a.m.

The Rebel duo of Carol Yang and En-Pei Huang nearly upset the second-ranked double team in the country. Yang and Huang led 5-2 before losing in a tiebreaker 7-6 to Jessie Aney and Hayley Carter of North Carolina, 7-6.

The host Rebels also picked up a doubles victory in Flight Two, as Paola Artiga and Anna Bogoslavets paired up to down Paulette Wolak and Liz Yao of Stanford 6-1. They will now face Laura Gulbe/Dzina Milovanovic of Pepperdine in the finals. The other win on the day came from Cristina Moroi in the singles draw quarterfinals over Stanford's Paulette Wolak 6-1, 6-2, but fell in the semifinals to Pepperdine's Jean Runglerdkriangkrai.

Individual competitors representing teams that include all of the top five and seven of the top 25 from the season's initial ITA national rankings are on hand for the event. Admission to all matches is free of charge.
