SAN DIEGO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV Women's Golf wrapped up the 72-hole March Mayhem match play tournament in San Diego on Tuesday evening, finishing in 12th place after four head-to-head competitions over two days. After falling in the opening round via a tiebreaker to ninth-seed Old Dominion, the eighth-seeded Rebels defeated 16-seeded Yale in second round play on day one, then dropped their final two matches on Tuesday to fifth seed California and 10th seed Washington State.

With round two being suspended due to darkness on Monday night, those results weren't made official until Tuesday morning. In that round, the Rebels defeated the Bulldogs 3-2 overall, with Alexandra Kaui besting Elisabeth Bernabe (five up with four to go), Mackenzie Raim defeating Jayshree Sarathy (two up), and Alyssa Getty and Elizabeth Prior both finishing all square with Jennifer Peng and Julie Luo, respectively. Harley Dubsky fell to Yale's Sandy Wongwaiwate (six up with four to play) in the round as well.

Taking on California in the third round on Tuesday morning, the Rebels fell to the Bears 4-1. In that matchup, Dubsky was the only one to register the individual victory, beating out Cal's Amina Wolf (three up with one to play), while Kaui, Raim, Prior and Getty were all edged out. Kaui and Raim both lost by a narrow margin, losing on the very last hole to Marthe Wold (one up) and Lucia Gutierrez (one up), respectively. Prior dropped her match to Maria Herraez Galvez (four up with three to play) and Getty got tripped up by Marianne Li (eight up with seven to play).

The fourth round, originally scheduled for Wednesday, was moved up to Tuesday as tournament officials anticipated rain would disrupt play on Wednesday. With the loss to Cal, the Rebels moved to the 11th-place bracket and were paired with Washington State in the final 18-hole match. The Cougars were able to take down the Scarlet and Gray 3-1-1 with WSU taking 11th and UNLV ending the tournament in 12th. In the round, both Raim and Kaui finished all square against their individual foes while Washington State's Marie Lund-Hansen squeaked by Prior with a win on the 18th hole and Getty fell to Bree Wanderscheid (four up with three to play). Dubsky did not compete in the final round, so her match automatically went to the Cougars.

USC, ranked second in the country, went 4-0 over the two days to win the tournament.

The Rebels have one last regular season tune-up before the Mountain West Championships as they are set to compete in Arizona State's PING/ASU Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., April 7-9.
