HOUSTON. Texas (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's tennis team fell 4-1 in a neutral match with Denver Sunday afternoon at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.

The Rebels fell to 11-6 overall while the Pioneers improved to 7-9.

In doubles, UNLV fell 6-1 at No.1 and lost 6-1 on court three as the Pioneers took a 1-0 lead.

Moving to singles, the Pioneers won on three courts to clinch it, but UNLV got its point when Ruben Alberts beat Jesse Ruder-Hook 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 at the fourth position. Two other Rebels also won their first set but eventually lost: Jakob Amilon on court one vs. Yannik James; and Evaldo Neto at No. 3 vs. Alex Gasson. Courtney Lock (court five) and Richard Solberg (court six) won a set but saw their matches halted before completion.

UNLV will host a pair of dual matches on Sunday, April 2 starting with conference opponent Utah State at 11 a.m. PT followed by Southern Utah at 4 p.m. PT. Admission to all matches at the Fertitta Tennis Complex is free of charge.
