(UNLVRebels.com) - The No. 12 UNLV men's golf team shot rounds of 6-under 282 and 5-over 293 on Friday and holds a six-shot lead at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate, which is being played at UNM Championship South Course (par 72, 7,555 yards).
Individually, Arizona's George Cunningham leads by a shot at 5-under 139 over UNLV senior Shintaro Ban. Ban was 4-under during the first round and even par during the second. Rebel junior Harry Hall is third at 2-under.
STAT OF THE DAY: Ban had eight birdies and an eagle during the first 36 holes of play, while Hall had nine birdies and sophomore Yash Majmudar tallied 10 birdies.
REBEL OF THE DAY: Ban, who is 4-under for the tournament, is in second place (out of 100 golfers), one shot back. He is coming off a third-place showing at Olympia Fields Country Club/Fighting Illini Invitational last weekend, which featured 10 of the nation's top-20 teams.

• UNM Championship Course is hallowed ground for the UNLV men's golf team as it was the site of its team national championship in 1998.
• UNLV finished fourth at its season opener in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and then seventh at the tough OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational last weekend.
• Last season, UNLV won the Mountain West Championship, captured an NCAA Regional title and advanced to the `Elite Eight' at the NCAA Championship.
• UNLV has an active NCAA record of 29 consecutive regional appearances.
