LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV has one doubles team still alive in the main draw after Wednesday's action at the 2018 ITA Mountain Region Men's Championships being held at the Darling Tennis Center.
 
The duo of Eric Samuelsson and Clayton Alenik advanced to the quarterfinals by upsetting fourth-seeded Dan Little and Azat Hankuliyev of Utah, 8-1.
 
Also competing Thursday will be Rebel Jordan Sauer who is still alive in the singles consolation draw.
 
Earlier in the day, UNLV's Olle Thestrup was ousted from the main draw of singles when New Mexico State's Louis Menard rallied to win 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.
 
More than 80 players from 17 western teams were competing here this week. Each day's action begins with doubles play at 9:00 a.m. PT. The finals are set for Friday on center court starting with doubles at 11 am. Admission to all matches is free of charge.
 
The ITA Regional Championships feature more than 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete across 85 ITA Regional Championships around the country. In Division I, regional doubles champions and regional singles champions and finalists qualify for the season-ending Oracle ITA National Fall Championships in Surprise, Arizona.
