SAN FRANCISCO (UNLVRebels.com) - The No. 23 UNLV men's golf team shot a final-round 4-over-par 288 Saturday and finished in fifth place at The Goodwin, which was being played at TPC Harding Park (par 71, 7,143 yards).
No. 9 Oklahoma held on for the team title with a 4-under 280 Saturday to win the event by three shots at 24-under. No. 11 California finished second at 21-under, while host No. 20 Stanford was third at 16-under. The Rebels finished with a 54-hole total of 3-under 849.
Individually, Oregon's Norman Xiong earned medalist honors at 15-under 198 after a final-round 3-under. Stanford's Jeffrey Swegle was second at 9-under.
UNLV freshman Jack Trent matched his second-round 4-under 67 on Saturday and led the Rebels with a tie for seventh individually at 5-under 208.
STAT OF THE DAY:UNLV was one of just five teams under par for the tournament.
REBEL OF THE DAY: Freshman Jack Trent moved from a tie for 18th to a tie for seventh with his second straight 4-under 67. He had six birdies with two bogeys on Saturday.

There were a total of 26 teams and 135 individuals that competed.
REBEL NOTES:
• The tournament featured seven teams ranked in the nation's top 30.
• This was UNLV's fifth event of the spring. In their first four events of 2018, the Rebels finished tied for second, first, fourth and first.
• Last season, UNLV won the Mountain West Championship for the second straight year, captured an NCAA Regional title and advanced to the 'Elite Eight' at the NCAA Championship.
• Ban and Hall are both 2017 All-Mountain West Team honorees, and Ban earned honorable mention All-America honors. In addition, Ban was named an All-America Scholar.
• Ban (U.S.) and Hall (international) will both compete in this year's Arnold Palmer Cup.
• Ban, ranked as the No. 9 individual in the country by Golfstat, is on the watch lists for the Hogan and Haskins Awards, which go to the nation's top collegiate golfer.
• UNLV has an active NCAA record of 29 consecutive regional appearances.
• This season marks the 31st at UNLV for Hall of Fame head coach Dwaine Knight.
