LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field program had two individual student-athletes as well as its 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay teams recognized by the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) after their performances at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
With a seventh-place finish in the semis of the 800m, Avi'Tal Wilson-Perteete earned Second Team All-American honors, while Jasmyne Graham, who was 18th in the 100m hurdles, claimed Honorable Mention status.
Wilson-Perteete and Graham also ran legs of the 4x100m and 4x400m relays, respectively. The former teamed up with Najia Hudspeth, Kaysha Love and Destiny Smith-Barnett in the 4x100m relay (19th), while the latter partnered with the Hudspeth sisters (Najia and Nylia) and Love in the 4x400m relay (21st).
REBEL NOTES:
- Wilson-Perteete was also a USTFCCCA Second Team All-American in the 800m during the indoor season.
- For the second straight year, UNLV has had a student-athlete garner All-American status during both the indoor and outdoor campaigns. Wilson-Perteete achieved the feat this while Smith-Barnett did so last year in the indoor 60m (Second Team) and outdoor 100m (Second Team).
