LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV women's golfers Alyssa Getty and Cathy Liu were both named 2018 All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) on Tuesday. It marks the third time in the last four years that multiple Rebels received the prestigious recognition.

A total of 1,011 women's collegiate golfers from NCAA Divisions I, II and III were on the list. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and include having a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50, while also having competed in at least 50 percent of the team's competitive rounds.

Getty is a rising senior from Ruthven, Canada, majoring in communication, while Liu is a rising sophomore from Chengdu, China, majoring in hospitality management.

The Rebels closed out the 2017-18 season by winning their third straight Mountain West Championship, then making their 16th straight NCAA Regional appearance in May.
