No. 15 Rebels Hold Team And Individual Leads In Albuquerque

UNLV men's golf team has three-shot advantage, while Harry Hall is up two at William H. Tucker Intercollegiate.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (UNLVRebels.com) - The No. 15 UNLV men's golf team shot rounds of 9-under-par 279 and 5-under 283 Friday during the first day of the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate, which is being hosted by New Mexico at the Championship Course (par 72, 7,555 yards).

The Rebels turned in a 36-hole total of 14-under 562 and lead second-place BYU (-11) by three shots. Pepperdine is third at 8-under, followed by No. 21 Arkansas in fourth at 5-under, while Colorado and New Mexico are both tied for fifth at 2-under.

UNLV senior Harry Hall is the tournament's individual leader by two shots at 9-under 135 after rounds of 5-under 67 and 4-under 68. BYU's Peter Kuest is second at 7-under. Two other Rebels are in the top 10 as sophomores Jack Trent and Garrick Higgo are both tied for eighth at 2-under.

STAT OF THE DAY: UNLV's first-round score of 279 tied for the second lowest of the tournament thus far. 

REBEL OF THE DAY: Hall recorded seven birdies during the first round with just two bogeys and had a bogey-free second round with four birdies.
