LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV Volleyball junior
Mariena Hayden was named the Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Wednesday.
The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletic Communications department.
The Minnesota native had a pair of double-doubles in Mountain West competition against Wyoming and Colorado State this weekend. She compiled team highs of 28 kills, 3.11 kills per set, five aces, 29 digs and 3.22 digs per set. In the conference opener at Wyoming, Hayden had 13 kills, 14 digs and two aces. Against No. 17 Colorado State, Hayden had 15 kills, 15 digs, three aces and two assists.
