LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV football sophomore safety Tre Fulton was named the Raising Cane's Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Thursday.
 
Fulton is the first football player to receive the honor for the 2026-27 academic year.

The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletics Strategic Communications department.

Originally from  Bakersfield, California, Fulton helped UNLV top Hawai'i, 21-6, in its Mountain West opener. He and the Rebel defense held Hawai'i to six points, marking the fewest allowed by a UNLV defense since 2003. 

In the win, Fulton finished with 12 total tackles (eight solo), a sack, a forced fumble and a pass breakup  that took a touchdown off the board and flipped the game's momentum.

The standout defensive effort from Fulton also earned him Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week honors.
