LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team won the first of its two matches Friday, 4-1, over New Mexico State at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Rebels (2-0) took two of three doubles matches to earn a 1-0 lead and then used the strength of the bottom half of the lineup to win the required three singles matches and hand the Aggies (2-1) their first loss of the young season.
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Jordan Sauer teamed with
Olle Thestrup at the second spot for a 7-5 doubles win and then eased by Enrique Asmar on court four singles play, 6-2, 6-2.
NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV closes out the doubleheader by hosting Weber State Friday afternoon. Admission to all matches is free of charge.
