LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - One day after winning the Battle at Boulder Creek to open the spring season, UNLV women's golf has more to celebrate as senior
Elizabeth Prior and sophomore
Polly Mack were name the Co-Mountain West Women's Golfers of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday. On Tuesday, Prior and Mack tied for first at the event after they each shot even for the tournament.
It was the third career tournament Surrey, England, native Prior, who won the same tournament as a freshman in 2016. The senior shot a 68 in round one, matching her single-round season low, followed by a 74 in each of the next two rounds to finish at even.
Mack, from Berlin, Germany, captured her first career tournament win after a stellar final round of 4-under 68 lifted her from fourth to a tie for first with Prior. The sophomore's 68 was one stroke over her career single-round low of 67, which she shot as at the 2017 Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown as a freshman last year.
This is the first conference golfer of week honor for both Prior and Mack and the first for UNLV since former Rebel
Mackenzie Raim earned the nod last spring on March 14.
