PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (UNLVRebels.com) - The No. 24 UNLV men's golf team shot a first-round 9-over-par 289 and 20-over 300 during the second round on Monday at the Sea Best Invitational, which is being played at TPC Sawgrass (Dye's Valley Course - 6,858 yards, par 70).
Florida is the team leader at 1-under 559, followed by No. 23 North Florida in second at 1-over, NC State in third at 4-over, Liberty in fourth at 8-over and Florida State in fifth at 9-over. UNLV is 12th at 29-over.
Individually, Jacksonville's Eduardo Carrete holds a four-shot advantage at 7-under 133. He shot rounds of 1-under 69 and 6-under 64 on Monday. Liberty's Ervin Chang is second at 3-under.
The final round will begin on Tuesday at 8 a.m. ET.
REBEL OF THE DAY: Senior
Harry Hall is in a tie for 21st at 3-over 143. He shot a first-round 2-under 68 with four birdies and two bogeys.
